My daddy is the man!
Fun Fact: I’m named after my daddy.
There is a lot that I can say about my dad but the one thing that I will say is that I am very grateful that he is in my life. I am also grateful for the many lessons that he taught me through his example. I’ve listed a few of those lessons below:
- Take Pride in Yourself
- Family is Everything
- Anything is attainable with hardwork
- Remain Humble
- Value People
- Keep Your Word
- Serve Others
- Maintain Your Integrity
- God’s timing is everything
- Prayer is the Key
While # 10 is critical, it makes me laugh to myself. Whenever we wanted something, my mom would always defer to my dad. His response would be, “let me pray about it.” It would drive us nuts and he knew it but I know that my dad prayed about EVERYTHING fervently especially for my sisters and I. I don’t think we would be where we are today without his prayers, his love, his discipline, and frankly him being who he is. My dad never changed. He was never moved by the opinions of others. He was and still is always consistent. If you were to ask me what my dad and I have in common, it would be this attribute. We are consistently ourselves and it’s not for everyone BUT we keep it pushin!
To this day I still want to make him proud. I think he would agree that I’m doing a pretty good job.
Happy Father’s Day!
