While you are spring cleaning your home do not forget to assess your child’s clothing and toys.  These questions will help you de-clutter and clean.

Less is oftentimes more!

  • What do they have?
    • Pants
    • Shirts
    • Outerwear
    • Undergarments
  • If so, how many of each item?
  • What do they need?
  • How soon do they need it?
  • What is the season?
  • Can the item be handed down to a younger sibling?
  • Is it in good condition?
  • Does it fit properly?

  • How often do they play with it?
  • When was they last time they played it?
  • Is it age appropriate?
  • Does it have all of the pieces?
  • Is it taking up too much space?
  • Does the toy work?
  • Will you purchase batteries to make it operational?
  • Do you have multiple of the same toy?  I.e. Cars, dolls,

A tip my mom gave me a long time, which I believe, is very useful: if you haven’t worn it or played with it in a year it’s time to let it go.  Happy cleaning!!
